Khiyrat Launches Its Official Account on the National “Tawakkalna” App. Khiyrat Association for Saving Food has launched its official account on the comprehensive national platform “Tawakkalna,” aiming to enhance communication with its members and the community.
This step provides a digital gateway that enables app users to follow the association’s latest activities and programs, and to participate in initiatives focused on food preservation and reducing waste. Ms. Hessa Al-Shunaifi, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors, stated that the Board of Directors places great importance on developing the association’s operations and advancing them to meet modern demands, in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030 and its objectives.
She added that joining a leading national platform offering services to both public and private sectors reflect the association’s commitment to digital transformation and the use of modern technologies to serve its mission. It also helps extend the association’s message to the community and maximize its capabilities to provide the best services to beneficiaries. Ms. Al-Shunaifi also expressed her gratitude to the “Tawakkalna” app for enabling the association’s presence on this national application, which plays a role in raising public awareness about the importance of preserving food and reducing waste. She prayed that these efforts would bring benefit and blessings to all. Khiyrat Association is considered a pioneer in the field of food preservation in Riyadh. Established in 2015, it specializes in collecting surplus, consumable food from events, hotels, restaurants, rest areas, and private homes.
Its field team works to sort, repack, and distribute the surplus to families in need. In 2024 alone, the association distributed around 5 million meals. Khiyrat aims to spread awareness about food preservation and activate community responsibility and volunteerism through its initiative “Linhafithha” (“Let’s Preserve It”), along with several other projects and initiatives that contribute to sustainable food security and reducing waste across society.
