The Board of Trustees of the “Ahyaha Humanitarian” Foundation visits “Khairat ” and praises its efforts in preserving food and reducing food waste

Khairat Association for Preserving Food received the Board of Trustees of the Ahyaha Humanitarian Foundation at its headquarters in Al-Arid district, headed by His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, with the presence of Her Highness Princess Sara bint Saud bin Saad Al Saud, Vice Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees, and a number of esteemed board members and institution staff, on Wednesday 15/9/1447 AH corresponding to 4/3/2026 AD, in a visit aimed at supporting charitable work and enhancing joint humanitarian initiatives.

Their Highnesses were received by the Chairman and members of the Association’s Board of Directors and the CEO, during which they toured the operational laboratory, observing the mechanism of sorting, preserving, and preparing meals according to the highest standards of quality and safety, and distributing them to beneficiaries, contributing to preserving foods from waste and enhancing food security for deserving groups.

The visit witnessed the participation of Their Highnesses and the accompanying delegation in the process of distributing meals to beneficiaries, in a scene reflecting the spirit of social solidarity and embodying the importance of effective partnerships between charitable entities and supporting institutions; to achieve a sustainable humanitarian impact that serves the community.

The Chairwoman of Khairat Association’s Board of Directors, Ms. Hessa Al-Shanifi, confirmed that this visit comes as an extension of the continuous support approach for humanitarian work, and as an enhancement of the values of giving and social responsibility, appreciating the presence of Their Highnesses and the accompanying delegation, and what these initiatives represent as a positive message contributing to spreading the culture of preserving foods and consolidating the principles of solidarity among community members.

Al-Shanafi explained that the association continues to develop its operational programs and expand the scope of its services in partnership with supporting and granting entities. During the year 2025, it managed to preserve and distribute more than 8 million meals from surplus food from hotels, restaurants, and event halls, delivering them to the beneficiaries in professional and organized ways. This is part of its efforts aimed at reducing waste and sustaining food security, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 in the field of sustainable development and social responsibility
